Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a UK visa application take?

Processing times vary by visa type. Standard Skilled Worker and family visas typically take 3–8 weeks. Priority and super-priority services can reduce this to 5 working days or 24 hours respectively, for an additional fee. We advise on the best service level for your timeline.

My visa application was refused — what can I do?

A refusal is not the end. Depending on the reason for refusal, you may be able to appeal to the Immigration and Asylum Tribunal, request an administrative review, or submit a fresh application with additional evidence. Contact us immediately after a refusal — strict deadlines apply and missing them can close off your options.

How long do I need to live in the UK before applying for ILR?

Most routes require 5 years of continuous lawful residence in the UK before you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. Some routes — such as the Global Talent visa — allow ILR after 3 years. Absences from the UK during this period are strictly counted and must not exceed the permitted threshold.

Can my employer sponsor me if they don't have a Sponsor Licence?

No. Your employer must hold a valid Sponsor Licence to issue you a Certificate of Sponsorship for a Skilled Worker visa. We can advise and assist your employer in obtaining a licence quickly — the application typically takes 8 weeks, though priority processing is available.

I am overstaying my visa — what should I do?

Overstaying is a serious matter that can result in removal, a re-entry ban, and refusal of future applications. However, there may be options available depending on your circumstances. Contact us urgently and in strict confidence — the sooner you seek advice, the more options are likely to remain open to you.
